Alicia Zadorozny and her family were cleaning out the basement of their new home in Lorain, Ohio, when they found what looked to be a decades-old firefighter's helmet with the name, "Wilker," written on it. The Zadoroznys decided to try to see if they could find the helmet's owner. They posted a photo of it on Facebook to see if anyone would recognize it, and locals determined it had probably belonged to Clarence Wilker, who served in the fire department for more than 25 years before retiring in the 1980s and later dying in 1990. It was suggested they contact Westlake Firefighters Local 1814, as Wilker's son, Brian Wilker, served as a lieutenant there before retiring in 2021. Brian Wilker said he doesn't know how the helmet ended up in the basement of Zadorozny's home, but he remembered the helmet was given to his father's girlfriend when he died. He said his father's helmet will now go on display at his home, next to his own helmet
