Sometimes humans really need to help out animals. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said Animal Control officers responded after a homeowner reported a buck was standing in the water of a muddy pond and appeared to be unable to move. An officer says the deer’s legs were stuck in mud at the bottom of the pond, leaving its body half-submerged in the freezing water. The officer used a dog leash to help pull the deer free of the mud, and says the deer seemed exhausted and laid beside the water relaxing after the ordeal.
