Tom and Dick Smothers (yes they are still alive!) are reuniting for a tour. Their comedy show, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, was abruptly cancelled in 1969. The show was popular and held its own in the ratings against NBC’s Bonanza, but CBS had to cancel the show due to the brothers pushing back against their censorship policy. They publicly supported the Civil Rights Movement and Vietnam War resistance.… The Smothers Brother’s first show is scheduled for January 7 in Santa Rose, California.
