Sharing the bed at night with an animal is not out of bounds for many pet owners. A survey found nearly 74 percent of Americans have shared a bed with a pet. However, a pet pig is not normally the type of pet that shares a bed with its human. Georgia resident Alexis Waldron may disagree with that. The 23-year-old often shares her bed with a KuneKune-Juliana mix pig. Waldron says, “I’m obsessed with her. She sleeps in bed with me a couple of nights a week.”
… Petunia is the pig’s name and Waldron adopted the animal earlier this year. She said she’s always wanted to adopt a pet pig. Petunia weighs 36 pounds right now but could get up to nearly 300 pounds when she’s fully grown.
… Waldron says Petunia uses a litter box. The pig spends a lot of time outdoors grazing in the garden for oats, carrots, bananas and apple sauce. And at bedtime Waldron said Petunia loves to cuddle.
