When Nick and Shaina Day of Lakeland, Florida, got engaged, he gave her a diamond ring. But, according to Nick, “She came to me one day and said, ‘I think I lost my ring.’ She said ‘it was on the counter now it’s gone and I think I may have flushed it down the toilet’.” The couple searched hard for the ring: Shaina even climbed into the septic tank to pump it through a strainer, but they couldn’t find the ring. Now, 21 years later, Nick’s mother decided to replace her toilet — and the plumber found the ring stuck inside. Nick’s parents cleaned it up, wrapped it, and gave it to the couple for Christmas in a jewelry box shaped like a toilet.
