A man has finally been arrested in connection with strange occurrences at the Dallas Zoo. Davion Irvin, 24, claims he stole two monkeys and released a leopard from its habitat because he is an animal lover.
Irvin confessed to cutting the clouded leopard enclosure, allowing the animal to escape. He claimed he wanted to pet the wild cat.
He also copped to taking two emperor tamarin monkeys and bringing them on the Dallas light rail to his home. Additionally, Irvin said he would steal more animals if he were released from jail.
Irvin did not say anything about the suspicious death of a vulture at the zoo, and he's not currently linked to that incident. He's currently charged with six counts of animal cruelty and two counts of burglary.
