Coming soon — but not to a theater near you. Theater chain AMC Entertainment has announced plans to sell its popcorn outside of movie theaters. Now, consumers will be able to purchase AMC Theatres Perfectly Popcorn at mall kiosks, counters and stores, as well via delivery from theaters to homes and in Walmart. You can choose between “To Go” popcorn packages in theaters, while prepackaged and microwavable popcorn will be available at Walmart.
The company announced it will start to sell its microwave and ready-to-eat popcorn at Walmart stores beginning March 11.
The product line will include three new flavor varieties of microwave and popped popcorn: classic butter, extra butter, and lightly salted. The extra butter pack will come with topping packets.
The suggested retail plaice for the microwave popcorn will be $4.98, plus tax, for 6-count. For the ready-to-eat popcorn, the suggested retail price will be $3.98, plus tax.
Unfortunately, your popcorn order will not come with a butter dispenser!
Do you think both popped and microwavable AMC popcorn will be as good as it tastes in a theater?
