A Labor Department investigation of McDonald’s franchises in Kentucky found 300 children under the age of 16 working in the restaurants. Two of them were 10-year-olds but the franchise owner said they were just visiting a parent who worked there. Three franchise owners were fined a total of $212,000 for using underage workers.
