It’s not every day train officials shut down high-speed rails to save the life of a slow-moving critter crossing municipal transit tracks. Officials from San Francisco’s Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) took to Twitter to share the safe retrieval of a turtle from their tracks before transporting the unwise creature to a local animal shelter. "In my 27 years at BART, I can say, I never have heard of a turtle breach into the Right-of-Way," said the BART supervisor on duty. "Most who heard about it were, well, shell-shocked."
