State Route 25 has reopened, after its closure for emergency bridge repairs on May 22. Following investigations, the bridge will utilize one northbound traffic lane.
Traffic control will be implemented using a temporary traffic signal. Travel through the northbound lane will be restricted to an alternating pattern for the safety of motorists and workers. Speed limits within the work zone have been reduced to 25 mph and motorists are advised to drive cautiously through the area.
Drivers should continue to expect longer travel times due to the alternating traffic pattern. Alternative options for travel through this corridor include using the 23-mile detour east and west of the project.
Traffic west of the bridge on Georgia Route 25 north may use Georgia Route 30/Bonnybridge Road west to Georgia Route 21/Augusta Road north to I-95 north to US 17 south. Traffic east of the bridge on South Carolina Route 170 may use US 17 northbound to I-95 southbound to Georgia Route 21 (Exit 109) southbound to Georgia Route 30 to Georgia Route 25.
