Taylor Swift recently gave a reported $55 million in bonuses to people working on her Eras Tour, including $100,000 to truck drivers hauling equipment. Mike Scherkenbach, who runs the concert transportation company Shomotion and who has worked on three of Swift’s stadium tours, recently noted, says the gesture is nothing short of amazing.… Scherkenach said: “She’s giving a sum of money that is life-changing … a lot of these drivers are not homeowners, and a lump sum like this gives you the ability to put a down payment on a home. That’s what makes me really happy. That generosity is a game changer for these people.”
Taylor Swift will be bringing her Eras Tour back to the United States and Canada for 15 more shows in the fall of 2024. The tour is now scheduled to conclude in November 2024 with six shows in Toronto at the Rogers Centre. But before that are three shows each in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis. Gracie Abrams will be the support act for the dates. “Turns out it’s NOT the end of an era,” Swift wrote on social media yesterday. “Miami, New Orleans, Indy and Toronto: The Eras Tour is coming to you in 2024 with @gracieabrams!"
Additional shows could still be announced in the future. But in the meantime, Swift began her six-night run in Los Angeles last night, which will be followed by dates in Latin America through the end of the year. Asia and Europe will follow next year.
