There's one place Amazon's blue vans cannot reach: the Phantom Ranch in the Grand Canyon. How do Amazon packages reach this remote location? By mule.
Delivery mules usually find themselves transporting produce, toilet paper, beer, and Amazon packages. They travel just after sunrise to avoid the heat, and regulars know the route by heart.
"The supplies that our mule team brings down are a critical part of making sure that life can exist down at the bottom comfortably and happily," a spokesperson for the ranch said. "Having a service like Amazon available to employees, especially in a place as remote as Phantom Ranch, is fantastic."
