In mid-August, Paula Rodriguez was not allowed entry into the United States from the Dominican Republic. When she was deported back to Santo Domingo, she was separated from her dog Maia, who flew with her to the United States.
Once she was back in the Dominican Republic, Rodriguez claims she called Delta several times and the airline told her the dog had escaped its kennel.
The dog has been missing near the Atlanta airport since August 18th. Delta has reportedly offered Rodriguez $1,800, which her lawyer has called "an insult."
"Delta remains heartbroken for what this customer is going through," a representative for the airline said.
