A woman in Michigan had to be rescued after getting stuck in an outhouse while trying to retrieve her Apple Watch. Michigan State Police say the woman dropped her Apple Watch into the toilet and then lowered herself inside to retrieve it, but was unable to get out. First responders were called to the scene and used a strap to hoist the woman to safety after removing the toilet.
Back in April of 2022 a woman who accidentally dropped her phone into the hole of an outhouse in a national forest needed to be rescued. Authorities say the woman, who was at the top of Mount Walker in the Olympic National Forest northwest of Seattle, had been using her phone when it fell into the toilet. The woman disassembled the toilet seat and used dog leashes to try and get the phone and eventually used the leashes to tie herself off as she reached for it. That effort failed and she fell into the toilet headfirst. The woman was alone and tried to get out for 10 to 15 minutes. Reunited with her phone, she called 911. Responding firefighters passed her blocks to stand on to reach a harness, which they used to pull her out of the vault. The woman said she was uninjured but needed to be hosed off. She refused medical attention and went on her way.
