A fast food worker in Lexington, Kentucky, became a hero when she performed CPR on a man in a Wendy’s parking lot. Alexandria Cowheard called 9-1-1 and reported that he was unresponsive and not breathing. Cowheard, who is CPR-trained, immediately started chest compressions and was eventually able to revive him. Emergency crews arrived and took the man to the hospital.
… Cowheard is 22 and working at Wendy’s while studying to become a certified nursing assistant. After helping the man, Cowheard returned to work at the fast food restaurant.
… According to a study by Harvard Health Publishing, 65 percent of Americans have received CPR training at some point, but only 18 percent are up to date on their training.
