Astronaut Frank Rubio has been cleared of allegations that he ate one of the first tomatoes harvested in space, according to members of the International Space Station (ISS) crew.
NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli revealed during a live-streamed event celebrating the ISS's 25th anniversary that the missing tomato had been found eight months after being misplaced by Rubio. The astronauts did not disclose where the tomato was found or its condition, but Rubio had previously speculated that it would likely be in an advanced state of decay due to the humidity aboard the station.
Rubio, who returned to Earth in September, had been humorously accused of consuming the space-grown fruit for several months.
