SHE SAYS HER LUGGAGE ARRIVED FROM SOUTHWEST SOAKING WET AFTER A STORM DELAY

A Southwest Airlines passenger experienced a disappointing incident when her luggage, containing Christmas gifts, arrived soaking wet after her flight was delayed due to a storm. Emily Andrews was traveling from Austin to Connecticut, on Christmas Eve when her flight was delayed by about 40 minutes because of lightning. She had packed a hard-shell suitcase with gifts, including a matted picture frame and a stuffed animal. Upon arrival at her mother’s house in Connecticut, she discovered that everything in her suitcase was drenched. Andrews speculated that the baggage might have been left on the tarmac in the rain.

… This incident was part of a broader issue with Southwest Airlines over the holiday season, with FlightAware reporting 110 cancellations and 910 delays on Christmas. The airline had previously faced similar operational challenges the year before.

As for Andrews, she said that next year she'll be wrapping presents in plastic, not paper.
