An Alaska Airlines flight made an emergency landing Friday afternoon after one of the plane's windows blew out. The Portland to Ontario, California flight had to land 35 minutes after take off due to the incident.
Witnesses say their phones and other personal belongings were sucked out the missing window, and a child had to be held in his seat by his mother.
One passenger was taken to the hospital following the incident. Alaska Airlines temporarily grounded all Boeing 737-9 aircraft Friday as a precaution.
"My heart goes out to those who were on this flight – I am so sorry for what you experienced. I am so grateful for the response of our pilots and flight attendants," Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci said.
