One of the families we told you about was lung cancer patient Robin who loves her dogs, but because she's too weak to walk them, she asked for dog food, vet care, and a backyard fence for her dogs.
We never had a family's wish involve only the welfare of her pets. Robin has lung cancer and finds she lacked the strength to walk some of her dogs who are as large as 50-60 pounds.
Fortunately, we did have Okatie Veterinary Center reach out to offer to spay/neuter her dogs, provide food and other necessary vaccinations and vet care. (20+) Facebook
But there was the matter of getting her what she wanted the most: a fence so she can get her dogs out of the house.
Fortunately, we heard from Teddy and Bryan, the owners of AMS (Applied Material Solutions), a local landscape firm who does almost everything outdoors. They (and my neighbor Derrick Baldree) offered to build and install a fence if we could provide materials. Fortunately, Joe, the manager of Tractor Supply offered us a substantial discount to make this wish a reality. (20+) Facebook
After being sidelined by weather delays, the fence is now complete, and Robin is a happy camper who can now focus on getting well. Thank you for your donations to help Robin's wish come true.
