Identical twins, Amy and Ano, separated and sold as babies, have been reunited after one recognized the other in a TikTok video. Born in Georgia in 2002, they were stolen from their mother and sold on an illegal child adoption market linked to organized crime.
Accoreding to The Telegraph, Amy identified her sister, Ano, on Georgia's Got Talent when they were 12. Ano later became suspicious after seeing a TikTok video of Amy. Reconnecting through Facebook, they discovered they were victims of an underground Georgian child trafficking ring.
Their adoptive parents, unaware of the illegality, were offered adoption at a Georgian hospital. The twins used a Facebook page to track down their mother.
Child adoption trafficking in Georgia has diminished since 2005, and the government initiated an investigation in 2022.
