Madonna is facing criticism after she stopped her show in Vancouver to call out a front-row fan for sitting through her performance, only to realize they were in a wheelchair.
Madonna scolded a fan who wasn’t standing among the cheering crowd during her show Thursday in Los Angeles before realizing they were seated in a wheelchair. The singer performed at the Kia Forum as part of her “Celebration Tour” when she made the embarrassing remark. “What are you doing sitting down over there? What are you getting sitting down?” Madonna asked, before walking to the edge of the stage to get a closer listen to the fan.
Video of the incident shows Madonna initially asking the fan why they were sitting down, only to apologize when she realized the situation, saying, “politically incorrect” and expressing her gratitude that the fan was there.
