A St. Johns County, Florida, sheriff’s deputy found himself face-to-face with a turkey during a routine traffic stop. The incident, caught on the deputy’s body camera, showed the bird making its way down a residential street surrounded by other poultry. Thinking it was a chicken, the deputy attempted to shoo it away by quacking and raising his leg. However, the persistent turkey refused to back down, leading the deputy to call for backup jokingly stating, “I’m getting attacked by a chicken right now.” After a few minutes of unsuccessful attempts to chase away the turkey, the deputy managed to steer it to the other side of the road before retreating to the safety of his patrol vehicle.
