Some TikTokers have claimed that Ozempic helps with that time of the month. In January, user @cgo_of_me uploaded a video discussing her extreme weight loss.
However, when she stopped taking Ozempic, her periods became extremely painful. She claimed Ozempic helped with her polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS, symptoms.
Dr. Myra Ahmed says an excess of fat tissue can disrupt cycles and increase cramps.
"GLP-1 medications and other anti-obesity medications help to reverse that cycle," Dr. Ahmed said. PCOS impacts about five million American women.
