Tweaking the formula of a 61-year-old cookie that rakes in $1 billion annually is a bold move, but the company believes that upping the cocoa and vanilla extract will lead to tastier cookies. Despite the competitive market, Chips Ahoy! stands out with a commanding 53 percent share of the U.S. chocolate chip cookie market.
