A Florida woman found herself face-to-face with an unwelcome visitor in her own home. Mary Hollenback heard a banging on her front screen door. Little did she know that the culprit behind the commotion was a nearly 8-foot-long alligator making itself at home. Hollenback’s initial confusion quickly turned to disbelief as she realized the source of the noise. She quickly dialed 911 for assistance from local sheriff’s deputies and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers. The 7-foot, 11-inch gator had managed to navigate its way from a nearby pond, traversing two yards and even crossing a street to end up inside Hollenback’s residence.
