A French athlete has broken a new record by pulling herself up to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower using a rope. Anouk Garnier, described as “an obstacle course world champion and Olympic torch beare,” broke the record for greatest height climbed by rope, climbing 377 feet high. Garnier, who spent a year training for this moment, told the Times of London she would pause at times to breath and that the act was visibly straining. She told the publication, “My mother has cancer and it was important for me to surpass my limits for a good cause close to my heart, to help cancer research.”
