A recent TikTok video has raised concerns about the security of hotel room safes. In the video, Umair Imtiaz demonstrates how easy it is to bypass the security of a hotel safe by using a default passcode. By simply hitting 000000, he was able to access the safe and retrieve the items inside.
… The reason behind this vulnerability is quite simple: some hotels do not change the default passcode, which is often set to 000000. This default code makes it easier for guests who forget their own passcode to access the safe, but it also poses a security risk.
