Wine could be the next product hit by supply chain issues.
And it has nothing to do with grapes or the wine itself.
The problem is packaging.
Labels require paper and adhesive to stick the label to the bottle. Adhesives were affected by the Texas freeze, and paper is stuck at ports.
It may not seem like that big a deal, but winemakers can't comply with state laws without a label.
Bottles may be a problem, too. Some winemakers say shipments have been taking a month or two longer to arrive and they're costing up to 50% more.
So maybe we should stock up for the holidays? Just a thought.
