Our pet of the week this week is Strawberry!
Strawberry's story is as uplifting as it is heartbreaking. Strawberry was found dragging a rope tied to her neck with 2 small puppies,5 weeks old walking with her. She was in need of help. Initially we weren't sure Strawberry and her pups would survive. Strawberry was in congestive heart failure with her abdomen filled with fluid and no energy. One Love Animal Rescue immediately pulled her and her family out of animal control and gave her the medical attention she needed. We got her congestive heart under control with medication and got her well enough to undergo heartworm treatment.Strawberry is a beagle mix, about 3-5 years old, current on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. Today she is happy and healthy and has the energy to enjoy life to the fullest. She is very playful and would love a doggie companion. She is house and crate trained. She is also very food motivated so her training is going very well. She is as sweet as she can be and with a wonderful story of healing like hers, it is certainly her time to find her forever family!
