HILTON HEAD/BLUFFTON CHAMBER MESSAGE TO RESIDENTS

The Lowcountry is keeping its eye on Hurricane Irma. In preparation, Beaufort County, weather and emergency management officials at the local, state, and federal levels are all closely monitoring the storm. Gov. Henry McMaster declared a State of Emergency earlier today, allowing for state agencies to coordinate efforts if a weather emergency arises. Click here to watch his press conference from earlier today. While the path of Hurricane Irma will be more clear over the next few days, we encourage you to prepare your homes and businesses for the possibility of evacuation. Below are resources you can use to stay informed. Here is what your chamber will be doing:

  • As the EOC's official business community liaison for Beaufort County, a member of our chamber staff will be stationed at the Beaufort County Emergency Operations Center to relay information to the business community.
  • Continue to communicate and share information related to the storm via email and our social channels (@hhibchamber). We will update storm information on our destination website and social outlets as well.
