Delta flights at Savannah/Hilton Head International are operational this afternoon on a limited schedule. It is important to remember that cancellations are determined by each carrier, and in a severe weather situation changes to flight status can occur rapidly. Passengers should expect some cancellations to continue through Monday and possibly Tuesday as Hurricane Irma approaches Georgia.
The full mandatory evacuation order was in place until Saturday, and airport tenants are working diligently to get staff back in place to operate, weather conditions permitting. Some of the airport shops and restaurants may be closed even when flights are operating.
Airport parking is scheduled to close today at 7:00 PM and will reopen when conditions permit. Customers who wish to return a rental car may utilize the drop boxes located at the rental car counters if an attendant is not on duty.
The airlines will always be the best source for information, and passengers should check airline websites and mobile apps for the most up-to-date flight information. Up-to-date flight information can also be found on flySAV.com, airline websites, and social media pages. Please monitor Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport's Facebook page or follow us on twitter @fly_SAV for the latest information concerning airport operations.
The public is urged not to call the airport but to contact the airlines directly for the most current flight information. Calls to the airport made during this time period will reach emergency operations personnel.
