Update For Garden City Residents

gARDEN CITY Storm Debris Disposal & Trash Pickup Plan

WHAT: Garden City, Georgia is actively working to ensure Garden City is safe while returning the City and its operations to pre-hurricane conditions.

A summary of Garden City’s efforts to clear debris as a result of Tropical Storm Irma and arrange for residential trash removal include:

Storm Debris Management and Pickup:

All of Chatham County, to include Garden City, currently has a “Burn Ban” in place therefore no residents or commercial entities shall burn storm debris of any kind.

Starting Monday, September 18, 2017 the City will be contracting for the removal of Hurricane Irma storm-related yard debris from the curb/side of street using its mobile chipper unit. The City will only be removing yard debris and natural vegetation therefore, no household related materials of any kind will be picked up from the street.

Residential Trash Pickup:

Waste Management of Savannah will begin collections within Garden City on its normal schedule for both recycling and trash today, September 13, 2017 with normal schedules being run all week. Residents should continue to place ONLY recyclables into recycling carts.
