United Way Seeks Volunteers for Disaster Relief SATURDAY 7am

The United Way of the Coastal Empire in coordination with the Chatham County Emergency Management Agency, City of Savannah and the City of Tybee Island are looking for volunteers to assist in disaster relief efforts this Saturday 9/16 beginning at 7AM.

Volunteers can sign-up by submitting registration forms to United Way HandsOn Savannah. Registration forms are available on the United Way website <http://tinyurl.com/IrmaDisasterReliefVolunteers>, and can be picked up at the United Way HandsOn Savannah Office at 428 Bull Street.

Completed Forms should be submitted via fax to 912-651-7724 or by email to jkeedy@uwce.org Once registered, volunteers should report to one of the designated centers listed below to be assigned a team, given a safety briefing, and dispatched to a service site.

We will also have walk-in registration at both of our Volunteer Centers listed below. Walk-in registration will begin at 7AM on Saturday 9/16 morning and last approximately 3-4 hours. We encourage volunteers to arrive early so we can put them into teams and dispatch them to locations as quickly as possible.

***We especially need skilled volunteers who can bring a truck and/or a chainsaw to help with clean-up operations.***

We will provide basic personal protective equipment to all volunteers (gloves, protective eyewear, masks).
