The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management Division is actively monitoring the National Weather Service’s forecast of possible winter weather on Wednesday, January 3rd.
As of 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 2nd, NWS Charleston forecasts Beaufort County to get an expected one to three inches of snowfall. There is a 63-percent chance of at least 0.1-inches of snow or more and a 36-percent chance of at least one-inch. Areas of the county could see up to one-tenth of an inch of accumulated ice.
The time frame for the arrival of this weather system is overnight tonight into Wednesday afternoon. A Winter Weather Watch is in effect for Beaufort County on Wednesday from 6:00 am to 12:00 am January 4th.The expected winter precipitation could create hazardous traveling conditions.
