Why is the internet outraged that Walmart is selling "funeral potatoes"?

Have you ever heard of the dish called 'funeral potatoes'? The internet is a bit freaked out after spotting a Walmart Facebook advertisement for the bagged food item. The "Funeral Potatoes" come in a 13.6-ounce "food pouch," and the photo on the package shows the finished product looking like a creamy potato casserole. Many Facebook users posted about seeing the ad and being at least mildly offended by it. But, The Wall Street Journal notes that funeral potatoes are a beloved staple of church functions, and are made from shredded hash browns, onions, butter, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and are sometimes topped with cornflakes. The name is regional to Utah and other Mormon conclaves
