Believe it or not, there's an active NFL player who's also a medical doctor, Kansas City Chiefs guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who got his medical degree from Canada's McGill University last month after finishing his classes during the offseasons since being drafted by the Chiefs in 2014. Duvernay-Tardif has asked the NFL to let him have "M.D." on the back of his jersey after his name, similarly to how some players have "JR." or "SR." or the Roman numeral "III". But a Canadian media report says the league has refused his request, and the NFL isn't saying why or even confirming the decision.
