A new gig for Toys R Us' Geoffrey: Giraffe Conservation at Texas Zoo

Just a few days ago, a picture of a forlorn Geoffrey the Giraffe leaving an empty Toys ‘R’ Us store went viral, devastating millions of Americans. But now it looks like the mascot for the defunct toy store chain has a great new gig waiting for him. The San Antonio Zoo wants to buy the rights to the character so that Geoffrey can become its ambassador for giraffe conservation. The zoo has started a GoFundMe campaign titled “Help San Antonio Save Geoffrey” to raise money for the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. Wildlife experts say that fewer than 100,000 of the creatures survive in the wild.

Don't let #GeofrreytheGiraffe become extinct! Let's get the attention of the owners at #toysrus to join the effort to save giraffes by donating the use of their most recognizable intellectual property, Geoffrey. You can save giraffes in the wild by supporting the Giraffe Conservation Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to supporting a sustainable future where all giraffe populations and sub-species are protected and secured in the wild.
