Her text message to her husband may have saved her baby's life

A Memphis mom is grateful she nagged her husband about a car seat — it may have saved their child’s life. Rebecca Tafaro Boyer was at work on her first day after maternity leave. She told her husband to send hourly updates and recaps on how their new baby, William, was handling his first day away from mommy. In the early afternoon Rebecca got a photo text message from her husband during their trip to Walgreen’s. She replied that he needed to correct William’s position in the car seat — the straps were too loose and the chest clip was way too low. Less than 30 minutes later Rebecca got a call from her husband — they’d been in a car wreck. Both dad and baby William were fine, though the car would be totaled.

… Rebecca’s guys were less than three miles from their house when a woman pulled into oncoming traffic to try and make a quick left turn. Dad slammed on the brakes at nearly 50 miles an hour before colliding with the front passenger side door of her SUV. Baby William was so well restrained in his car seat that he didn’t wake up. Dad’s foot was broken but baby William came out of the accident with no injuries.
