Man Blasted for Tip 'Game' He Played with Waitress After Post Goes Viral

A man who posted on Facebook about a game he played with the tip for his waitress when he recently went to a restaurant has been blasted after the post went viral. Saying that his method will get you, quote, "the best service of your life," the Facebook user wrote that he put five single dollar bills on the table at the start of the meal for the waitress to see, but didn't tell her what they were. He explained, "Don’t say anything to them. If they mess up, you take a dollar away and so on. At the end of the dinner, however much is left, is their tip." He said the waitress kept looking at the money with a puzzled look on her face. He also wrote that he took a dollar away because she forgot to bring bread for the table, but then put it back when she brought extra bread later. He wrote, "Haha all in all a great evening with my love and a good dinner experiment we both wanted to see play out. Try it, you will be surprised!" Atlanta-based news, weather and traffic host Mark Arum tweeted a screenshot of the post and wrote, "As a former waiter, please don’t ever do this. Ever." The tweet got hundreds of angry responses, with people slamming the Facebook user not only for his tipping "game," but also for him planning a tip of just $5 for a dinner for two. One person wrote: "Why do some people treat servers like they are training an animal? If they do good then you give them a treat, if they mess up you rub their nose in it."
