Taylor Swiftβs has donated $15,500 to the GoFundMe page set up by a young fan whose mom has been in a coma for three years.
Earlier this month, the fan, Sadie, tweeted out the link to her GoFundMe page and wrote to her fellow Swifties, βHey guys. Iβm really nervous to post this. Please help if you can and pray for my family. Iβm sorry I never said anything sooner and that Iβm suddenly asking for help. I love you guys so much.β
The tweet contained the text of a lengthy letter in which Sadie explained that her mom has been in a coma due to an ulcer that bled and cut off oxygen to her brain. While sheβs made some progress, she is still considered to be comatose until sheβs able to communicate.
At the GoFundMe link, the βmost-likedβ donation is Taylorβs, and it reads, βLove, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift.β
Thanks to Taylor, the GoFundMe site has now raised more than $26,000 of its $40,000 goal.
_ Thereβs a reason why Taylor Swift is well-liked by many. Itβs not uncommon for the 28-year-old to make grand gestures to fans, including doing anything from offering tickets to fans, surprising them at various events, and even donating money to them. Most recently, Swift made one heartbroken fanβs wish come true by donating a good chunk of change to help her ailing mother. Swift put her money where her mouth is and donated $15,500 to a fan who wrote about her momβs health issues on Twitter.
β¦ The fan wrote: βMy Mom has been in a coma for three years now. She had an ulcer that bled out that led to lack of oxygen to the brain which resulted in brain damage.β In the post, the teen explained that her dad is not able to work because he takes care of her mother full time and itβs up to her and her older brother to provide for their family. Along with the post, the teen included a link to her motherβs Go Fund Me page and somehow the post caught the attention of Swift as she left a generous donation for the family.
