Man turns in $10,000 cash found in purse on subway platform

Richard Taverna was just going about his day when the 63-year-old retiree came across an abandoned purse in a New York City subway station. When Richard originally saw the purse, he looked around to see if there were any subway workers he could turn it over to. He didn’t see anyone, so he took the bag with him, hoping he could find the owner himself. Once he got home he opened the purse and found an envelope with Russian writing on it. The envelope contained $10,000 in cash. Richard new immediately there was a story behind it — and somebody was probably really upset. Richard knew he had to turn over the bag. Once the police had it they got to work tracking down the owner
