Hilton Head Island will host upwards of 20,000 people at the celebration on Pope Avenue.
As for traffic remember that southbound lanes of Pope Avenue will be closed to traffic from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the two northbound lanes will be used for vehicular traffic during those hours. One lane will be used for those traveling south and the other lane will be used for vehicles traveling north.
Unlike Savannah, you cannot walk around the island with alcoholic beverages. Those looking to have a few drinks must be inside designated bars and restaurants.
Extra patrols will also be out to prevent drinking and driving, making sure everyone has a fun and safe time.
