ATTACK SQUIRREL IS RESCUED AT SCENE OF METH BUST

An “attack squirrel” was rescued when sheriff’s deputies seized methamphetamine, ammunition and more at an Alabama home during a drug bust. Deputies served a search warrant at an apartment (near Athens). Before executing the search warrant, investigators were informed that the resident kept an ‘attack squirrel’ inside his apartment, and that it was fed meth to keep it aggressive. Deputies found the squirrel inside a cage. After consulting with conservation officials, deputies released the squirrel into a nearby wooded area. in Alabama it is illegal to keep a squirrel as a pet.
