New postage stamps honor military dogs

The U.S. Postal Service released a new collection of "forever" stamps yesterday (August 1st) that honor military dogs, which it calls the "four-legged heroes of the nation's military." The stamps feature stylized illustrations of four breeds of dogs that commonly serve in the armed forces -- German shepherd, Labrador retriever, Dutch shepherd and Belgian Malinois -- in red, white and blue colors that the USPS says represent "the American flag and the patriotism displayed by the military working dogs."
