Georgia resident Tracy Lee Lawrence encountered several barriers regarding her ability to receive annual breast cancer screenings. Without health insurance, Tracy was unable to afford services that would aid in early detection. Her health insurance status, combined with a general fear of diagnosis, initially kept Tracy from receiving timely care. Fortunately, as a result of funding from Susan G. Komen Coastal Georgia, she was able to receive a clinical breast exam and routine mammogram screening through Diversity Health Care in Hinesville. Komen funding afforded Tracy the opportunity to receive services regardless of her ability to pay. Tracy’s mammogram results were normal, and she was given peace of mind knowing that she can receive care in a compassionate setting where women’s health is a top priority.
Congratulations Tracy!!!
