She turned to billboards to get a kidney donor. And she just got great news

An Alabama woman finally found a kidney donor after posting billboards throughout the state. Verna Johnson was diagnosed in 2017 with kidney disease, the same illness that took her sister's life as she waited years for a donor. Fed up with waiting, Johnson paid for billboards which read: "VERNA needs a kidney." The investment finally paid off, as Jaime Burchfield offered one of her kidneys after hearing about Johnson's plight on her church's Facebook page.

Here's how the story started months ago with a woman in need and a billboard that could save her life.
