A sanitation worker's kindness gets noticed...and goes viral

Billy Shelby is a sanitation worker in the Kansas City, Missouri, area. For most of the year he’s been wheeling an elderly woman’s trash can back up her long driveway. He started doing it after witnessing the 88-year-old fall while attempting the task in January. After footage of Shelby’s now-regular gesture of kindness toward Opal Zucca was posted online on October 15, the driver for Waste Management has become an online hero. It was Zucca’s daughter who shared the video of Shelby taking the can up her mom’s driveway to its spot beside the house. Opal’s daughter wrote in the video post: “In January, my mom fell while trying to bring the trash can back up her driveway and got hurt. This gentleman from Waste Management was there when it happened. Ever since, he has brought the can back up the driveway for mom. This was him today helping her; he demonstrates such care for her. It takes a village.”
