So there WILL be a "Friends" reunion after all

Friends Gets 11 Emmy Nominations

Stage 24 on the Warner Brothers lot in Burbank will once again come alive as Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer will return to celebrate the fan favorite show which ended its run in 2004.

There had been talk for years of perhaps a movie, a reboot of the original show brought up to date, but none of the cast members really wanted that. Just weeks ago Schwimmer just posted on his Instagram page that there will be NO reunion...period. Aniston told Ellen that something is being discussed but would not elaborate.

The show was owned by Warner Brothers television which has signed a deal witth the new streaming service HBO Max (owned by Warner) to have all ten seasons (236 episodes) of "Friends" be available to stream when the service launches in May, So it's not unbelievable that they would agree to do a one time special on the network. The special will be recorded and will be available when the service launches.

Sources close to the situation tell Variety the six stars will receive at least $2.5 million apiece for participating in the special.
