Deepfakes are “synthetic media” in which a person in an existing image or video is replaced with someone else’s likeness. When it comes to political messages faked and shared on social media, deepfakes can be dangerous. But for movie fans, they can be fun. Like the ones being created by a YouTube channel (Ctrl Shift Face). It’s latest video puts Willem Dafoe into Silence of the Lambs as Hannibal Lecter. You have to look more than once. It sure looks like Anthony Hopkins at first but then....watch!
