Beaufort County has its first confirmed cases of COVID19

3 confirmed COVID19 cases in Beaufort County

In a news release late this afternoon, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control announced that there are three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Beaufort County. None of the three cases involves a Beaufort County School District student or employee.

DHEC says two of the three Beaufort County cases are close contacts of each other and had known exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19 from another state. The other case has no known connection to any other case and recently traveled internationally. All three cases are currently isolated at home.

James Foster, spokesman for the school district, says Superintendent Rodriguez will be consulting with DHEC, the governor’s office and State Superintendent Molly Spearman, and there will be an announcement on Sunday regarding school schedules.
